On Monday night in Los Angeles, “The Shield” star, Michael Jace
called the police himself to report that he had shot his wife, reports
TMZ.
According to law enforcement sources, Jace called 911 around 8:30 PM PT
and told police,”I shot my wife.” Jace’s neighbors in the Hyde Park
area of L.A. had earlier reported shots fired in the home and shortly
thereafter Jace made his call to 911.
The Police on getting to their home at Brynhurst Avenue in Hyde Park,
found Michael Jace (51) and April Jace (40) suffering from multiple
gunshot wounds, NBC reports. April was declared dead by paramedics at
the scene.
The couple’s two children, both boys under the age of 10, were in the
house at the time of the shooting but LA police said was unclear
whether the boys witnessed the shooting and still do not know why the
actor shot his wife dead.
Jace popularly known as Detective Lowe from “The Shield” who also
played law enforcement roles on “CSI,” as well as “NYPD Blue” was
taken into custody, and as of 1:00 AM PT today, was being questioned, but had not been booked for his wife’s death.
As at 3:51 AM PT, according
to TMZ, law enforcement sources confirmed that Jace’s 2 kids witnessed
him allegedly shooting and killing their mom. The kids, both under 10
were extremely upset and taken to the police station. We’re told cops
are angry it took Children’s Services 4 hours to get to the station and
take the kids to the home of a family member where they could be
comforted.
Jace is now being booked for murder.
