Unfortunately, most Nigerian universities, with the exception of a few privately owned institution with exorbitant fees, can hardly provide proper accommodation for half of their students.
This situation has seen many students crammed into the few available rooms like sardines in cans.
Having this in mind, it is wise for any students to make all efforts to get accommodation in the campus.continue after the cut............
The story is not different at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
If you are a student of UNILAG, then you need to know that the hall allocation portal will be opened on Friday 12th December, 2014 by 10.00am.
So NOW is the times for you to make the moves and you can do it by following this simplified process:
- Go to http://unilaghalls.com/
- Log in. To do this, input your Matriculation number or JAMB registration number (100 Level) as your username.
- Click the Login button. This will give you access to access the portal where you will apply for bed space.
- Click on the update profile link to update your email address and Phone Number as the confirmation Number will be sent to your mail.
- Click on the Allocation Link to check for allocation
- Click on the button GET A SPACE NOW to apply for bed space
- The system will notify you if your application was successful or not
- Print out your allocation slip to make payment at the specified bank. After you pay, a confirmation and receipt Number will be sent to your mail.
- Login to Print your final Payment slip with your passport photograph with your Confirmation and receipt Number.
- Proceed to your Hall of residence with the final payment slip.
The hall allocation portal allows students to login with their matric number and pin number and secure rooms based on student category e.g. Physically Challenged, Scholars, First year, sports men etc.
Remember to read the instructions carefully.
